On April 29^th, the FCA office received a tournament announcement from the Cuban Federation. A Cuban tournament is scheduled for the same dates as the Costa Rica Cup. Any Excellence Members, who wish to participate, May 25-30, 2003 should contact the FCA office immediately.

The 5^th Korea International Archery Tournament scheduled for June 7-11, 2003 has been cancelled due to SARS.

Le 29 avril, le bureau de la FCA a reçu un bulletin du tournoi de la Fédération du Cuba. Un tournoi y aura lieu à la même date que la Coupe du Costa Rica. Les membres du Programme d'Excellence qui veulent y participer, le 25-30 mai, 2003 doivent contacter le bureau de la FCA le plus tôt possible.

Le tournoi international de Tir à l'Arc de la Corée a été annuellé à cause du SARS.

The FCA is repeating its call for Team Leader and support staff to accompany the Canadian team to the World target Championship in New York City, July 11 - 19, 2003. The team will comprise 16 archers, male and female, compound and recurve. Joan McDonald already has been named Coach for the team. Under FITA rules, a maximum of 4 staff are permitted to accompany a team. The team selection criteria can be seen on the FCA web site in the Excellence section.

The Team Leader is responsible for the smooth administration of the team including assisting with travel arrangements, accommodation, entry fees and on site management. He/she works with the coach to ensure the smooth operation of the team both on and off the field. Both bilingualism and coaching certification would be assets but are not mandatory.

The two additional support staff will work with the Team Leader and Coach to assist with team management and to assist the archers in any way on the field during the competition. Some time will be required to work with the individual archers to determine how best to assist them. This is an opportunity for people with an interest in working with National Teams to gain the experience necessary to be a Team Leader and/or Coach for future teams. Both bilingualism and coaching certification would be assets.

The team budget will not be known until the FCA receives a response to its funding application to Sport Canada. It is probable that the FCA will not cover your travel costs with the team.

La FCA répète son appel de gérant(e) et du personnel de soutien afin d'accompagner l'équipe canadienne au championnat mondial à New York, le 11-19 juillet, 2003. L'équipe comprendra 16 archers, hommes et femmes, arc à poulies et arc recourbé. Joan McDonald a été déjà nommée entraîneure de cette équipe. La FITA permet un maximum de 4 membres soutients par équipe. Les critères de selection sont disponibles sur le site web de la FCA du lien d'Excellence.

Le(la) gérant(e) est responable du bon fonctionnement de l'équipe, par exemple, le plannification des voyages, l'hébergement, les frais d'inscription ainsi que l'organisation sur site. Elle/il travaille avec l'entraîneure pour assurer l'opération efficace de l'équipe sur le terrain et dehors. . Le bilinguisme et la certification d'entraîneur sont préférables mais pas obligatoires.

Les deux autres membres d'équipe de soutien vont travailler avec le gérant/la gérante et l'entraîneure pour les aider au bon fonctionnement de l'équipe ainsi qu'aider les archers de n'importe quelle façon pendant le tournoi. Du temps est réquis pour travailler avec les archers pour mieux déterminer la meilleure façon de les aider. Pour les personnes interéssées, c'est une occasion de travailler avec les équipes nationales, et d'augmenter les habilités afin d'aider les équipes nationales de l'avenir comme gérant(e) ou entraîneur(e). Les deux habiletés, de bilinguisme et de certification d'entraîneur, sont préférables.

Le budget de cette équipe n'a pas été confirmé par Sport Canada. Probablement, la FCA ne payera pas vos frais de voyage de cette équipe.

Les applications doivent être soumises au bureau de la FCA par courriel ou par la poste, et doivent être reçues le 14 mai, 2003.
