 3. MICA 2003

2. Please send results to me a couple of days after you have run the event at your club. You can either email them to me or fax them to me at (519) 685-4429 - ATTN: Jacqui Jenskey.
 

3. The deadline to submitting results to the International COPANARCO Coordinator is

March 20, 2003 so please have your results to me at the latest by March 15, 2003.

Below are some things to note:
1. The Team Event is different to an FCA Team Event. Please ensure you follow the MICA Guide.
 

2. There is no Pre-Cub in MICA.
 

3. The age categories differ slightly to the FITA age categories.
 

4. The target used for all archers is either a 40cm single face or a 40cm triple face. There are no 60cm faces in MICA

For those clubs wishing to register please email me with the information noted in the guide, including the date you wish to shoot the event, location etc. Once I have your registration I will send your dates and locations for the event to the FCA for publication in the FCA weekly newsletter you receive via email.

If you are wondering what score cards to use, please feel free to use the score cards posted on the FCA link for the Indoors event.

 3. MICA 2003

Le Championnat des Amériques Intérieur Multi-sites Intérieur du Championnat des Amériques (MICA) 2003 est à nos portes. Dans sa cinquième année d’existence, ce tournoi ne cesse d’augmenter en participation. Pour 2003, nous espérons faire de MICA une autre année de succès. C’est pourquoi nous demandons à votre club de tenir ce tournoi. L’événement peut être tenu entre le 10 Janvier et le 10 Mars, 2003. Les résultats me sont alors acheminés tous les résultats Canadiens sont soumis au Coordonnateur International de COPANARCO.

Veuillez lire le guide 2003 à l’adresse Internet ci-inclus ; nous espérons que vous enregistrerez votre Club pour tenir cet événement. Cette information est aussi disponible sur le site de la FCA

Voici des dates importantes:

1. Le Championnat MICA doit se tenir entre le 10 Janvier et le 10 Mars, 2003. Les pointages tirés après le 10 Mars, 2003 ne seront pas acceptés pour MICA.

2. Expédiez les résultat dans les 48 heures suivant la tenue du tournoi. Envoyez par courrier électronique ou par fax au (519) 685-4429 – ATTN. Jacqui Jenskey

3. La date limite pour soumettre les pointages au Coordonnateur International de COPANARCO est le 20 Mars, 2003. S. V.P envoyez les résultats au plus tard le 15 Mars, 2003

Notes à retenir:

1. La Finale de Club est différente de celle de la FCA. Assurez-vous d’employer la formule MICA telle que décrite dans le guide.

2. Il n’y a pas de catégorie Pre-cub pour les tournois MICA

3. Les catégories d’âge varient de celles de la FCA

4. Les cibles utilisées sont les 40cm FITA ou les cibles ‘’three spots’’ de 40cms. Les cibles de 60cms ne sont pas permises pour MICA.

5. Les archers de style arc recourbé ne compte pas le petit dix.

6. Les archers de style arc à poulie compte le petit dix.

Les clubs désirant s’enregistrer pour tenir cet événement doivent me faire parvenir les informations (par courrier électronique) telles que décrites dans le guide, en y incluant la date de la tenue du tournoi, la location etc. Lorsque votre inscription sera reçue, la date et la location sera envoyée à la FCA pour parution dans le bulletin d’information qui vous est expédié par courrier électronique chaque semaine.

Les cartes de pointage publiées sur le site de la FCA (Tir Intérieur) peuvent être utilisées.

 7. FCA Indoor Rules / Règlements de Tir en Salle

From the FCA Rule Editor:

FCA REGIONAL INDOOR CHAMPIONSHIPS - TEAM RULES

In keeping with the FCA's efforts to allow archers competing at the Canada Games to participate in the FCA Indoor Championships, it has been decided to lift the restriction that team members must all shoot on the same day and at the same site. (There is probably very little rationale for this rule anyway.) The following procedure will be used:

Rule 3.2.5.6 is suspended and teams may be registered whether or not team members shoot on the same day or at the same site. The team must be registered with the Site Director at the site where the first team member shoots. That Site Director should notify the Indoors Coordinator that the remainder of the team scores will be coming from another site and the Indoors Coordinator will calculate the team score based on the results of all three team members when they are available.

Please help us inform archers in your area of this decision - especially if you know of archers who will be at the Canada Games. This needs to be done as quickly as possible.

Note that effective with the current Indoor season, there are changes to the FCA target size and scoring. Some divisions using compound bows now score the OUTER TEN. In particular all Bowhunter divisions score outer ten. Also, Cubs, Pre-cubs and Peewees score outer ten. See the chart below.

 11. News from the Far North by Greg Loftus

Big news we're once again growing four members this week we now stand 13 strong and have 3 compound shooters (hard on targets). Ian and I have gone wild and ordered two traditional English Long bows 72 inches long these should be a hoot and the club now has quite an assortment. I will send along some pictures of the indoor range (you probably have seen one before) So far so good only one hole in the wall after almost four months of regular sessions. We will get through another year and see what next winter brings. I'll be missing the summer season as I'm paddling again for the kidney foundation a 1000-mile coastal trip Vancouver to Alaska.
