Cec Meehan Scholarships Shoot was run with the Canada Cup and it was so neat to see the number of juniors who shot for the Scholarships. There was some really good shooting done by all the competitors.

Le tournoi des bourses de Cec Meehan a été tiré au meme temps que Le Tournois de Coupe Canada. Il y a eu plusieurs archers juniors qui ont tiré pour les bourses. Il y a eu les bons scores par tous les concurrents.

The Burnaby Archers held the 7th Annual Canada Cup over the Victoria Day long weekend and it was a great success! We had over 60 shooters from five provinces and one state come out to the event.

Since it was only a weekend, we did our best to provide the greatest variety of weather we could manage. There was a little hail on Friday. Saturday was a little on the chilly side, but flat light, no rain. Sunday was warmer for most of the day, but we threw in a short thunderstorm near the end of 50 M to spice things up. Monday was really quite nice, with a few light zephyrs.

The competition was great, with several personal bests and some new Canadian Records being shot.

FITA has decided that the ruling of only one judge on an arrow call is allowed, eliminating the option of an archer to ask for a second or third opinion.

Also FITA has ruled that "Magnocks" are not allowed for the recurve division but are allowed for the compound division. FCA will follow both of these rulings effective immediately.

La FITA a annoncé qu'un seul juge peut décider la valeur d'une flèche, éliminant le droit d'un archer de demander un deuxième ou un troisième juge.

En plus, la FITA a décidé que les archers d'arc recourbé ne peuvent pas utliser les "Magnocks". Les archers d'arc à poulies peuvent les utiliser. La FCA utilisera les deux nouveaux règlements immédiatement.

 6. Summer Job Opportunity (uniquement en anglais)

We are looking for Archery Instructors at our summer camp. Montecito Sequoia Lodge has been in operation for over forty years. Our family camp offers Archery for all ages.

This would be a great place for a Canadian Archer to spend the summer and make a few dollars for the school season. We have several Canadians who work with us every year, and look forward to them re-visiting each year.

Our staff has an international flavor as we recruit from over seas regularly. I am currently working on several J-1 Visas for Russian and Romanian students.

We are passionate about Archery, and hope that our camp can continue to introduce our several thousand guests each year to the Sport.
