FITA is looking for an archery coach to conduct an Olympic Solidarity course:
Location: Irish Republic.
Dates: April 12/13, 2003.
Arrival on the day before the course Friday 11 April and depart on either the Sunday or Monday after the completion of the course.
Language: English
Level: Broken into 2 levels.
Level 1 would be on the first day for those with at least a year experience of archery who wish to progress further. Level 2 would be on the second day consisting of those at or near 1100+ in a FITA.
Objectives: Training Recurve and Compound archers primarily, split between 2 groups. Goals to be achieved: preparation of best archers for World Championships in July, the National team for Senior Euro Nations, and to improve the overall ability of archers in general. As for coaching certification we are looking into the possibility of assimilating some of our experienced club coaches to a higher level. We do not know if this will be possible in the time available though.
Type: Practical course with an indoor and outdoor facility.
Hotel: Type of accommodation would be Probably 3 star hotel.
Immigration: EU/USA citizens can travel there without visa applications but do not know what the requirements are for the rest of the world.
Application Deadline: February 28, 2003
To: Fédération Internationale de Tir à l'Arc
Pascal COLMAIRE, Development Manager
Avenue de Cour 135, 1007 Lausanne, Switzerland
Tel.: (41) 021 614 30 50 / Fax: (41) 021 614 30 55

The selected candidate will be informed by mid-March 2003; the host country as well.
The candidates who have not been selected will not been informed.

Sites holding the MICA competition along with the FCA regionals need only download the team score card. The individual's FCA score card and spreadsheet can be used for both events.
Results for both events can be emailed directly to Greg Durward. Greg will input the results into the MICA spreadsheet and send them directly to Jacqui Jenskey.
Sites holding MICA separately from the FCA indoors should use the MICA individual and team scorecards and the MICA spreadsheet to report results. Results for the separately held MICA events should be emailed directly to Jacqui Jenskey.
Thank you
Jacqui Jenskey

Merci
Jacqui Jenskey

FCA REGIONAL INDOOR CHAMPIONSHIPS - TEAM RULES
In keeping with the FCA's efforts to allow archers competing at the Canada Games to participate in the FCA Indoor Championships, it has been decided to lift the restriction that team members must all shoot on the same day and at the same site. (There is probably very little rationale for this rule anyway.) The following procedure will be used:
Rule 3.2.5.6 is suspended and teams may be registered whether or not team members shoot on the same day or at the same site. The team must be registered with the Site Director at the site where the first team member shoots. That Site Director should notify the Indoors Coordinator that the remainder of the team scores will be coming from another site and the Indoors Coordinator will calculate the team score based on the results of all three team members when they are available.
Please help us inform archers in your area of this decision - especially if you know of archers who will be at the Canada Games. This needs to be done as quickly as possible.
Greg Durward, Regional Indoors Coordinator
Note that effective with the current Indoor season, there are changes to the FCA target size and scoring. Some divisions using compound bows now score the OUTER TEN. In particular all Bowhunter divisions score outer ten. Also, Cubs, Pre-cubs and Peewees score outer ten. See the chart below.
