Hello, my name is Bruce Moquin. I am a graduate student with the Algonquin College Sports Management Post-Diploma Program. This course is designed to give the students an idea of the business side of sports. We are interested in seeing the relationships that occur in the public sector between the different National Sport Organizations and the committees such as the Canadian Olympic Committee.
As part of my placement for the Sports Management Program, I have accepted to work with the Federation of Canadian Archers (FCA). I will be working along side of Kathleen Millar, the Executive Director of the FCA. My placement will be the Olympic Seminar Project Coordinator.
Canada has the privilege of hosting a regional high-performance coaching seminar for the Pan-American Sports Organizations (PASO). This seminar will be held at Glendon College, Toronto from the 1st June 2003 to the 10th June 2003. We are planning to invite high calibre coaches from such countries as Australia and Italy. This seminar is going to be oriented to Level III coaches, as well as offering some tasks from the Level IV/V coaching programme.

Bonjour, mon nom est Bruce Moquin. Je suis un étudiant diplômé du programme de Post-diplôme en gestion des sports du collège Algonquin. Ce cours est conçu pour donner aux étudiants une idée de l’aspect des affaires entourant le monde des sports. Nous sommes intéressés aux rapports se produisant dans le secteur public entre les différents organismes sportifs nationaux et les comités tels que le Comité olympique canadien.
Dans le cadre de mon stage pour le programme de gestion des sports, j'ai accepté de travailler avec la Fédération canadienne des archers (FCA). Je travaillerai donc en collaboration avec Kathleen Millar, directrice exécutive du FAC. J’occuperai durant mon stage le poste de coordonnateur de projet de conférences olympiques.
Le Canada a le privilège de donner une conférence d'entraînement régionale de rendement élevé pour l’organisation sportive pan-américaine. Cette conférence sera tenue à l'Université de Glendon, à Toronto du 1er juin au 10 juin 2003. Nous projetons sur inviter quelques entraîneurs de haut calibre des équipes de l'Australie et de l'Italie. Cette conférence sera axée sur les entraîneurs de niveau III, et également sur quelques tâches d'entraînement des niveaux IV et V.

The International Olympic Committee is going to cut some events and entire sports from the Olympic program to size down the Olympic Games. IOC Reviews Sporting Programme For Future Games Of The Olympiad 29 August 2002
Following its review yesterday of the Olympic programme for the Olympic Winter Games in Turin in 2006, the IOC Executive Board today discussed the Olympic programme for future Games of the Olympiad, specifically the Games of the XXIX Olympiad in 2008 in Beijing. A total of 18 sports for the programme of the Summer Games have been submitted to the Olympic Programme Commission by their relevant International Federations for inclusion in future Games.
The Executive Board decided NOT TO ADMIT the following sports, which had made a request for inclusion into the Olympic Programme of the Games of the Olympiad:
Roller sports (FIRS) Polo (FIP) Surfing (ISA)
Bridge (WBF) Chess (FIDE) Air sports (FAI)
Billiards (WCBS) Boules (CMSB) Dance sport (IDSF)
Bowling (FIQ) Racquetball (IRF) Water ski (IWSF)
Squash (WSF) Underwater sports (CMAS)
It was decided that the request from the International Wushu Federation (IWUF) will be further studied. Decisions on inclusion/exclusion of sports will be made during the 114th
IOC Session in Mexico in November. Changes regarding disciplines and events will be further discussed during future Executive Board meetings. 4. CAC Unveiled a
Redesigned Web Site
In a major effort to improve services to coaches and to increase awareness of the programs and services the association offers, CAC unveiled a redesigned Web site today. Coaches have come to rely on for access to the latest information on education and training and recognition, for coaching news, and for quality resources.
Dodge Ink, designer of the site, has incorporated French and English search engines and user-friendly breakout menus for easier navigation and improved functionality. Enhancements to content include fundamental information on how to become certified in the 3M National Coaching Certification Program and new sections on sport nutrition and children and sport. 4. ACE a Dévoilé Son
Site Web Reconçu
Pour tenter principalement d'améliorer ses services aux entraîneurs et aux entraîneures et de sensibiliser davantage les gens à ses programmes et services, l'Association canadienne des entraîneurs (ACE) a dévoilé aujourd'hui son site Web reconçu. Les entraîneurs et les entraîneures en sont venus à compter sur le site pour obtenir les informations les plus récentes sur l'éducation, la formation et la reconnaissance dans leur profession, des nouvelles dans le domaine de l'entraînement et des ressources de qualité.
Dodge Ink, le concepteur du site, y a intégré des moteurs de recherche anglais et français et des menus déroulants conviviaux pour améliorer sa fonctionnalité et faciliter la navigation.
