Greetings/Bonjour
This is a shortened version of the bulletin. I am leaving tomorrow morning for the annual AMO Show in Indiana. Usually we get to drive through a blizzard! The office will be open again Monday, January 29 at 07:30 EST. ***********************************************************************Ce bulletin est vraiment court. Marthe Cusson decides not to run again as Athlete Rep Unfortunately, after many years' service in the role of Athlete Representative, Marthe Cusson has decided not to run again. Fortunately for FCA she has agreed to stay active as a member of the HPC. Thank you, Marthe, for all your work on behalf of our athletes and thank goodness you are not leaving us! Marthe's term of office ends in June 2001. Election information will be circulated in February. ***********************************************************************
Marthe Cusson se portera candidat pas encore comme representante Malheureusement, Mme. Marthe Cusson notre representante des athletes depuis longtemps a decide de prendre sa retraite. Heureusement pour la FCA, elle a decide de continuer comme membre du comite de Haute Performance. Bravo, Marthe! Nous tu remercions pour tous tes efforts au nom des athletes! Ses fonctions seront terminer en juin 2001. Les informations d'election sera circuler en fevrier.

Girls@Play Nike Youth Achievement Award (uniquement en anglais) CALL FOR NOMINATIONS The Annual Girls@Play Nike Youth Achievement Award will once again be presented to an outstanding female who has taken an active role in encouraging more girls and women to participate in sport and physical activity. Some examples of worthy acts include: · Volunteering a significant amount of time to ref or coach a girl's house league in soccer, basketball, etc. · Creating/developing a league for girls in their school or community · Playing a key role in organizing intramurals or play days at a local level · Teaching or mentoring younger female athletes on an ongoing basis · Acting as a camp counselor or organizer etc... Prize Package: · Trip for two to the Canadian Sport Awards in Toronto, includes transportation, meals and accommodation · Nike prize package valued at $500 retail · Nike product donation to a local charity/community group on behalf of the award recipient Eligibility: This award is open to all girls and young women who reside in Canada. Individuals must be 18 years of age or younger as of December 31, 2000. Submission Requirements: · Nominee's name, address, email, telephone and fax numbers, and date of birth · Detailed background information on the nominee that outlines her activities in promoting girls and women in sport, including a list of heraccomplishments. 4. Draft minutes of the Executive Committee Meeting We had a very busy time here last weekend in Ottawa. The Executive Committee covered a wide variety of issues.
