Our President Al Wills and wife Mary are on the move again, literally. Al has decided to retire from the Navy and return to Victoria, BC. And no, it is not because he couldn't stand the cold and snow of an Ontario winter; he decided it is time to move on. Good luck to both as they head back west June 1^st.

de la communauté sportive au Canada. Sur le site, on retrouve les orientations stratégiques de l'association, de l'information légale de notre programme ´ La Solution Sport ª, et des réponses aux FAQs. Ce nouveau site vous permet d'accéder en ligne à nos publications telle le Manuel de Leadership des athlètes ainsi que notre document de recommandations pour le Sommet National du Sport. Athletes CAN, the association of Canada's amateur athletes, is excited to announce the launch of their new website today at

With the help of Sue Dodge and company, this site is innovative, interactive and provides a great deal of information to athletes, coaches, other key members of the Canadian Sport System. Some highlights of the site include a board of directors orientation, FAQ's, and legal information from The Sport Solution. This new site provides publications such as the Effective Athlete Leadership Manual and our Position Paper for the upcoming National Sport Summit. Some key programs offered by Athletes CAN for the athletes such as the Team Investors Group Amateur Athletes Fund and the Athletes CAN Connect program are detailed here. Athletes are invited to participate in a "poll question" and will have access to their own "Athletes CAN" email in the next couple weeks. This website will be a tool to aid the athletes by providing them with valuable information about our association, the Canadian Sport System, and some key programs available to them.  3. Nominate a local coach for a 3M Coaching Canada Award

Do you know a 3M National Coaching Certification Program-certified coach (Level 2 minimum) who has made a significant contribution to athletes and sport development This is your opportunity to recognize that contribution by nominating the individual for a 3M Coaching Canada Award. Each year, 3M, in collaboration with the Coaching Association of Canada (CAC), honours a male and female coach in both high performance and developmental sport for outstanding contribution to coaching and athlete development. The four winners each receive a $1000 coach education bursary and the runners-up in each category receive a $500 bursary. The winners will be presented with their awards at the Sport Leadership 2001 conference in Mississauga, Ontario on October 20, 2001.

Mettez un entraîneur ou une entraîneure locaux en candidature en vue de l'attribution d'un des Prix 3M aux entraîneurs canadiens

Connaissez-vous un entraîneur ou une entraîneure qui détiennent une certification (au moins de Niveau 2) du Programme national de certification des entraîneurs 3M et qui ont contribué de façon exceptionnelle au perfectionnement des athlètes et à l'essor du sport Voici l'occasion de faire valoir leur contribution en mettant ces personnes en candidature en vue de l'attribution d'un des Prix 3M aux entraîneurs canadiens. Chaque année, la Compagnie 3M Canada, en collaboration avec l'Association canadienne des entraîneurs (ACE), rend hommage à un entraîneur et à une entraîneure de haut niveau et à un entraîneur et à une entraîneure de relève

qui ont prêté une contribution remarquable au développement de l'entraînement et au perfectionnement des athlètes. Les deux lauréats et les deux lauréates reçoivent une bourse de formation en entraînement de 1 000 dollars; les personnes qui finissent en deuxième place dans chaque catégorie obtiennent une bourse de 500 dollars. Les prix seront remis aux lauréats et aux lauréates le 20 octobre 2001 à la conférence Leadership sportif 2001, à Mississauga (Ontario).

For 2001 there will be one new Hunter class (Male/Female) at the FCA 3D nationals. Archers will shoot from the green stakes, maximum 80 pounds of peak weight. For more details, please follow the links on the FCA web site for the 3D nationals.

Saturday, July 14

- FITA Outdoor Round (A.M. - Long Distances, P.M. - Short Distances)

Equipment Inspection - 8:45 a.m., Open Practice- 9:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. First scoring arrow 10:00 a.m.

Sunday, July 15

- FITA Outdoor Round (A.M. - Long Distances, P.M. - Short Distances)

Open Practice- 8:00 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. First scoring arrow 9:00 a.m.

Archers may shoot a Single FITA over two days or the Double FITA.

Olympic Round with no cut (everyone may enter) begins one hour after completion of last distance. The OR ranking is based on long distances from the first day and short distances from the second day.
