Mr. Bruce Savage, Vice-President Archery Council Canada, is pleased to announce the appointment of M. Ghislain Arseneault as head of the FCA judges committee. M. Arseneault, an international-level judge, replaces Mr. Dennis Mrokwia who resigned recently. FCA welcomes Ghislain, his energy and his experience.

The Coaching Association of Canada officially launches The Canadian Journal for Women in Coaching
OTTAWA ? On September 7th, 2000, The Women in Coaching Program of the Coaching Association of Canada officially launched the Canadian Journal for Women in Coaching. The Journal is an online resource designed to address key issues and challenges facing women coaches. Its purpose is to provide timely, accurate, targeted information in order to establish a healthier and more positive environment for women coaches at all levels in Canada and throughout the world.
Among the topics that will be addressed in the Journal are: being professional about your employment, being a coach and raising a family, getting what you need to succeed as a coach, equitable pay for women coaches, feminism in sport, and developing the next generation of women coaches. In addition to tackling these pertinent issues, the Canadian Journal for Women in Coaching will provide coaches, their athletes, their employers, their clubs and associations, and the parents of their athletes with practical and proactive solutions and suggestions as well as a better understanding of the unique challenges and barriers facing women coaches.

The Women in Coaching program is a national campaign designed to increase the number of coaching opportunities for women, at all levels of sport. Since 1987, over 300 women coaches have received nearly $1,290,000 from the Women in Coaching Program in the form of professional development grants, major Games apprenticeship grants, and National Coaching Institute scholarships.
The Coaching Association of Canada is a not-for-profit amateur sport organization with the mandate to improve the effectiveness of coaching across all sports and at all levels of the sport system. L'Association canadienne des entraîneurs lance officiellement le Journal canadien des entraîneures
OTTAWA ? Le 7 septembre 2000, le programme Les entraîneures de l'Association canadienne des entraîneurs a lancé officiellement le Journal canadien des entraîneures qui est une ressource en ligne conçue pour aborder les problèmes d'actualité et les défis que doivent affronter les entraîneures. Le Journal vise à fournir de l'information précise, ciblée et opportune afin de créer un environnement plus sain et plus positif pour les entraîneures de tous les niveaux et ce, au Canada et à l'étranger.
Les sujets abordés comprennent : le professionnalisme au travail; être une entraîneure et élever une famille; les outils de travail et autres besoins pour réussir comme entraîneure; un salaire équitable pour les entraîneures; le féminisme dans le sport; la formation de la prochaine génération d'entraîneures. En plus de s'attaquer à ces sujets pertinents, le Journal canadien des entraîneures offre aux entraîneures, à leurs athlètes, à leurs employeurs, à leurs clubs et associations ainsi qu'aux parents de leurs athlètes des solutions et des suggestions pratiques et novatrices de même qu'une meilleure compréhension des défis uniques que doivent relever les entraîneures et des obstacles auxquels elles doivent faire face.
