All proposed motions, proposals and amendments must be submitted to FITA no later than January 16, 2001. Therefore, if any FCA executive or board members think Canada should submit same, they must forward these policy changes DIRECTLY TO ALLAN WILLS, FCA's FITA rep no later than December 22, 2000 for consideration by the Executive and Board of Directors. A Vote-by-Mail package is being sent to each delegate today regarding the rule changes discussed at the Boucherville Board meeting in August. The National Office will be forwarding this information electronically also under separate cover from this newsletter. The deadline date for voting has been extended due to the holiday season.

4. New FITA rule/un regle nouveau de la FITA
According to 8.3.1.7 rule the maximum diameter of arrows shall not exceed 9.3 mm after April 1, 2001. But if you hold a competition of two days beginning Saturday March 31,2001 the second day of this competition will be April 1, 2001.
I asked the opinion of Morten B Wilmann (member of FITA Judge Committee) about this fact and you will find his answer below:
"To your question re the new 9,3mm arrow shaft size rule. In fact, the Congress said after the World Championships Indoor 2001. It is not practical for anyone to change arrows in the middle of an event, so I would say from the beginning of the event, if the event lasts over several days including 1. April 2001.
But, I don't think it matters much if you are saying that you can use the big arrow shafts throughout the event. It is a matter of making a decision and publish it. You cannot ask people to change in the middle of a tournament, that seems obvious to me.

So, according to this opinion.and if the FCA agrees with, we will allow the people to shoot with their fat arrow throughout the event.

Don't know if we have any shoots on the April 1 weekend, but if we do, they can shoot big arrows! But on April 2 - Well - you know!

Arctic Archers are up and running this indoor season. A new archery shop is planned in the near future. The Yukon is bidding for the 2007 Canada Winter Games. Good luck to Rick Dale and his crew!
