Greetings/Bonjour:
Today, most of your FCA Executive Committee members are heading for their annual meeting in Ottawa. This is a critical, privotal meeting for the federation. Some very difficult decisions will have to be made. Once there is agreement at the Executive Committee level, it will be up to the Board of Directors, our members, to comment on those proposals and vote accordingly. I hope every member will become involved. The FCA's future depends upon it.
Due to the fact that I have quite a lot of preparation to do for such an important meeting, this week's Info.E-mail is a little short, but, still important. Happy Reading
Aujourd'hui, nos membres du conseil executif rencontront pour leur reunion annuel a Ottawa. Ce reunion est tres important et tous les decisions seront tres difficles. Apres les discussions du conseil executif, nos directeurs provinciaux doivent juger et voter. J'espere que chaque membre de la FCA veut participer a ce processus. Le futur de notre federation compte sur vous.

On January 12, 2000 the HPC has provided more details about the selection criteria to the 2000 World Junior Championship. The additional clarification is regarding the Excellence membership.
"Team candidates must be Excellence member by April 1, 2000 at the latest. If they were not an Excellence member in 1999, they have to submit their '99 top scores (at least 2) upon registration with the Excellence program; these '99 score could be entered in the archer's selection average as described in the selection regulation".
By consequence the wording of the selection criteria as been improved as below.
2000 World Junior Championship on July 19-23, in Belfort (FRA)
Selection: Junior archers will be selected according to the new
STANDARD SELECTION METHOD, i.e.:

achieve at least the 2000 Red Squad status - based on 4 scores (not 3) over the entire year 1999 and a part of the 2000 year up to June 12 (so it includes Spring Classic a major event), including at least one score achieved at a major event. No more than 2 scores can have been achieved in 1999. Valid for boys and girls, in the Recurve and Compound divisions.
Team nomination deadline: June 12, 2000.

Reminder: As per FITA rule #4.2.3. A competitor may participate in a Junior Class in tournaments when the competition takes place in the year of his/her 18th birthday.
Pascal COLMAIRE has been elected Team Leader. Denis BEAUDET will be on the Team Support Staff with either Jude HOOEY or Tom BLOCK.

Samedi :
09:30 - 11:45 : Ouverture et séance de pratique avec initiation en tir à l'arc.
12:00 - 13:00 : Repas.
13:15 - 16:15 : Compétition avec remise de médailles
Dimanche :
09:15 - 12:00 : Compétition pour les jeunes et pratique pour les seniors
12:15 - 13:15 : Repas.
13:30 - 16:30 : Compétition individuelle avec bourses
17:30 - Remise des médailles / bourses et festivité de clôture.
(L'horaire complet des deux journées vous sera remis, dès votre arrivée.)
Officiels : À déterminer.
Experts sur place en :
- Tir à l'arc.
Équipement :
- Chaque participant doit apporter ce dont il aura besoin : équipement de tir à l'arc et de ski de fond.
- De l'équipement de tir à l'arc sera disponible sur place en quantité limitée.
- Le samedi un espace de tir et un aire de ski pour la pratique seront mis à la disposition des participants.

Tournament/un tournois interieur
The 8th Australian Indoor Archery Nationals will be held in Adelaide, South Australia on 3rd & 4th May.
The 53rd Archery Australia National Archery Championships will be held in Adelaide from 7th - 13th May.
In a first for Australia, a dedicated site to the Nationals has been created.
It is intended to bring you the latest news, provide downloadable entry forms, provide information to assist you in finding accommodation and, of course will incorporate the results of the events.
The site IS NOW fully operational (since Friday, 21st January).
