3. Investors Group Atlantic Coaches Seminar

The Investors Group Atlantic Coaches Seminar (ACS) has become an important part of the coaching education program in the Atlantic region. The IG Atlantic Coaches Seminar is an annual multi-sport coaching education event coordinated by the National Sport Centre-Atlantic Canada (NSC-AC) in partnership with the four Atlantic provincial governments and the Coaching Association of Canada. During the past 7 years, over 1000 coaches from 40 sports have participated in this annual event.
The 2001 conference will be hosted at University of Prince Edward Island in Charlottetown on May 18-21. In addition to the wide range of sports that traditionally offer technical clinics at the ACS, this year there will be an emphasis on certifying coaches for the 2003 Canada Games. The mixture of Technical and Theory courses of the 3M National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) offered along with the Level 4/5 NCCP tasks makes this annual event unique in the country. Courses will be offered in French and English based on
demand.
The organizing committee of IG ACS 2001 would like to continue this conference's important role of providing regional Level 3 events. By offering technical clinics in a coordinated manner, these events become more viable both in the number of participants and on an economical basis. We hope that your sport would like to become involved with ACS 2001. Please complete the attached form if you are interested and return it before October 31. Séminaire des entraîneurs de l'Atlantique

Le Séminaire des entraîneurs de l'Atlantique Groupe Investors (SEA) est devenu un volet important du programme d'éducation en entraînement dans la région de l'Atlantique. C'est un colloque annuel de formation en entraînement multidisciplinaire de sport, coordonné par le Centre national du sport du Canada Atlantique (CNS-CA) dans le cadre d'un partenariat avec les gouvernements des quatre provinces de l'Atlantique et l'Association canadienne des entraîneurs. En sept ans, plus de 1000 entraîneurs et entraîneures de 40 sports ont participé à cette activité annuelle.
En 2001, ce colloque aura lieu à l'Université de l'Île du Prince-Édouard, à Charlottetown, du 18 au 21 mai. En plus des ateliers techniques habituellement présentés par un vaste éventail de sports, le SEA de cette année fera une large place à la certification des entraîneurs et des entraîneures en vue des Jeux du Canada de 2003. L'ensemble de cours théoriques et techniques du Programme national de certification des entraîneurs 3M (PNCE 3M) et des tâches de Niveaux 4 et 5 qu'offre ce colloque en font une activité annuelle unique au Canada. Les cours y seront donnés en français et en anglais, selon la demande.
Le comité organisateur du SEA de 2001 souhaite que ce colloque continue à remplir le rôle important que constitue la présentation régionale d'activités de Niveau 3. La présentation coordonnée des ateliers techniques rend ces activités plus rentables, tant au niveau du nombre de participants et de participantes que sur le plan économique. Nous espérons que votre sport souhaite s'engager à participer au SEA de 2001. Si c'est le cas, veuillez remplir le formulaire ci-joint et le renvoyer d'ici au 31 octobre. It's been awhile so I thought I would send this along. I'm hoping to meet Dorothy Lidstone this afternoon as I'm only a few miles from Abbortsford. If I'm lucky my first order of bows will be ready and I can ship them home. The weather here is very nice today; lots of sunshine.
We held what I believe was the first archery competion in Nunuvat the first week of September . Targets were made on the company photocopier and 17 archers from all over Baffin Island and the Northwest Territories had at it. Due to 12 hour days (of sunlight) and the fact that we had to have the shop back to normal, we fired only 5 ends. It was lot of fun and the company passed out prizes for the 3 highest and the lowest score. This was shot on Resolution Island 39 kilometers off the southern tip of Frobisher Bay at the old DEW Line site known as Baf 5. The electrican lucked out (Celestino] and broke the tie with a bullseye. Considering most had little or no experience it went really well. I hope this finds all well with you. Arctic Archers still consist of 5 die hards and will try for one more year. Anyhow, may as well as we're not broke yet.
