NB: Chistiane reminds everyone, when they are asking for a record score, they must send a good photocopy of their score card with the signatures of the archer, the scorer and the official (judge). They must also include the category, the style , their FCA membership number and their home address.And you can tell also that I always verify the calculation of the scorecard to make sure that the score is good. In some occasion , I found adding mistakes.

I have recently become aware of an opportunity for some Toronto based athletes to receive some support through a developing program. The program is in development stage and requires 10 interested athletes who live in or near Toronto, who are in need of financial support. I know this sounds cryptic but the program is just beginning and I am asking for the names and short stories of athletes to submit to the company. The sport must be a summer Olympic sport. If you know of any elite athletes that fit the bill could you please email me as soon as possible. This could be a potentially huge boost for some, and an opportunity to promote some great stories. Being a medallist is NOT a prerequisite.

10. Canadian Firearms Centre/Centre canadien des armes à feu Bulletin No. 35/Bulletin no 35

The Canadian Firearms Centre (CFC) Bulletin explains specific areas of the Firearms Act and how they affect you. The CFC coordinates the work of federal and provincial/territorial partners implementing the Firearms Act which is being phased in from December 1, 1998 to January 1, 2003.
Apply Early for a Minor's Possession Licence Under the Firearms Act a minor (12 to 17 years of age) who uses firearms needs either to have a Minor's Possession Licence or to be under the direct and immediate supervision of an adult who must be able to lawfully possess the firearms used by the minor.
The process to get a new Minor's Possession Licence is different from the one to get the former minor's permit. Minors' Licences are not available at local police stations. As well, the process to get a Minor's Possession Licence may take up a few months.
To get a Minor's Possession Licence, a minor must:
1. Take the Canadian Firearms Safety Course (CFSC) and pass the test.
2. Call the CFC at 1 800 731-4000. The call will be forwarded to the office of their Chief Firearms Officer (CFO). The CFO's office will either mail an application form to fill out or schedule an interview with a firearms officer.
If an interview is involved, the minor and/or their parent or person who has custody of them must attend. (Please note: this requirement varies from province to province, or territory. Check with your Chief Firearms Officer. Again, to contact your CFO call 1 800 731-4000 and an operator will connect your call). The minor's parent or guardian must agree to any conditions under which the minor may use firearms (such as supervision), and must give their consent before a Minor's Possession Licence can be
issued.
3. Fill out an Application for a Firearms Licence under the Firearms Act (Minors) (JUS 671). The processing fee for a Minor's Possession Licence is $10 for 1 year, $20 for two years or $30 for more than two years. Payment can be made by cheque, certified cheque, money order, Visa, or MasterCard. Do not send cash in the mail.
4. Mail the application form to the CFO's office. To find out the address, call the CFC at 1 800 731-4000. Once the application form is processed and all the safety checks conducted, the CFO will decide if the minor is eligible for a licence. Once approved , the minor will receive their Minor's Possession Licence in the mail.
Please note: a minor's permit issued under the former law, is valid until it expires or until the minor turns 18, whichever comes first.

Le Bulletin du Centre canadien des armes à feu (CCAF) explique les divers aspects de la Loi sur les armes à feu et la façon dont elle s'applique à chacun. Le CCAF coordonne le travail des partenaires fédéraux, provinciaux et territoriaux qui voient à la mise en oeuvre de la Loi sur les armes à feu qui entre en vigueur graduellement le 1er décembre 1998 au 1er janvier 2003.
Demandez votre permis de possession pour mineur bien à l'avance
En vertu de la Loi sur les armes à feu un mineur (de 12 à 17 ans) qui utilise des armes à feu doit soit obtenir un permis de possession pour mineur, soit être supervisé de façon directe et immédiate par un adulte qui est autorisé par la loi à posséder les armes à feu utilisées par le mineur.
Le processus à suivre pour obtenir le nouveau permis de possession pour mineur diffère de celui que l'on devait suivre pour obtenir l'ancien permis pour les mineurs. Les permis pour mineurs ne sont plus disponibles dans les postes de police locaux. De plus, le processus à suivre pour obtenir un permis de possession pour mineur peut prendre quelques mois.
Pour obtenir un permis de possession pour mineur, un mineur doit :
1. Suivre le Cours canadien de sécurité dans le maniement des armes à feu et réussir l'examen;
2. Communiquer avec le CCAF en composant le numéro 1 800 731-4000. L'appel sera acheminé au bureau de leur contrôleur des armes à feu (CAF). Le bureau du CAF postera alors un formulaire de demande ou organisera une entrevue avec un préposé aux armes à feu.
Si une entrevue est prévue, le mineur et/ou son parent ou la personne qui a la garde du mineur doivent y participer. (Veuillez noter : cette exigence varie d'une province ou d'un territoire à l'autre. Vérifiez auprès de votre contrôleur des armes à feu. Encore une fois, pour joindre votre CAF composez le 1 800 731-4000 et un téléphoniste établira la communication). Le parent ou le tuteur doit accepter toute condition selon laquelle le mineur peut utiliser des armes à feu (comme la supervision), et il doit donner son consentement avant que le permis de possession pour mineur
puisse être délivré.
3. Remplir une Demande de permis en vertu de la Loi sur les armes à feu (pour mineur) (JUS 671). Le coût de traitement d'un permis de possession pour mineur est de 10 $ pour un an, 20 $ pour deux ans et 30 $ pour plus de deux ans. Vous pouvez effectuer votre paiement par chèque, chèque visé, mandat, Visa ou MasterCard. N'envoyez pas d'argent par la poste;
