ACCOMMODATION:  Glendon College of York University, 2275 Bayview Avenue,  Toronto.  Just a 5 minute walk from the tournament field, on a first come  first served basis.  Please call (416) 487-6798 before May 3, 1999 or  (416) 487-6773 after May 3 for reservations.
$25 Cdn + taxes per night and breakfast at $5.95 Cdn + taxes.  Major  credit cards accepted.  Please mention the tournament when registering in
order to receive the discounted room rate.
 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATON
There is a registered FITA Star at The Archers of Caledon June 5th and  6th, 1999 - one week before the Ontario Spring Classic.  The Archers of
Caledon is located just north of Toronto.  There is also a practise range open dawn til dusk in Toronto in the E. T. Seton park just off Don Mills
Road south of Eglinton.

3. Missing FCA member
In Ontario, FCA has a paid lifetime member named Ken Smith.  I tried recently to mail him a membership card but it came back as address
incomplete.  If anyone knows him I would appreciate hearing from you.  He lives in Eastern Ontario.

Internationaux, July 17-20 juillet, France.
With the financial help of the Organizing Committee, judges are invited to
register for this event for $75.00.  All other costs must be absorbed by
the judges.  Don Lovo is in charge of this Conference.  I have registration

6. Application for Toronto National Coaching Institute

APPLICATION INFORMATION
Attached is a single page detailing the information required to apply for the two year part-time program at the NCI-T which will begin in September,
1999.

Other relevant information:
* Applications must be in the NCI office by Monday, April 26, 1999.
* All candidates who have an expectation of any financial aid must apply for a Petro Canada Torch Relay Scholarship.

Scholarships are available for women in coaching and there will be financial aid available from the NCI for those who have applied for the
above but did not receive them. Details will be available on request.

The Two Year Diploma program is a big commitment. Our commitment is to make the time and effort very worthwhile. The course work will be spread over four terms: fall and winter of 1999, and 2000, and fall and winter 2000, and 2001.

This program is for coaches who want to become more effective, interdependent, self-directed, lifetime learners for the express purpose of
coaching for higher performance.

Our faculty in the NCI will create learning environments supporting that process.

I am currently speaking with potential faculty and looking at timetabling and sequencing the various courses/tasks over the two years. This
information will be circulated as soon as final decisions are made regarding the fall session.

Please be patient. We are a work in progress. Our task is made more complex by our commitment to make this the most relevant experience possible for each coach who commits to this two year process.

HELP! If we are to really serve the coaching community we need feedback Any suggestions, ideas, or hunches about how we can create a more effective learning situation for Level 4/5 coaches will help. CRITERIA FOR ACCEPTANCE
Commitment to a career in coaching Four or more years experience coaching a training group of athletes in a  year-round program (athletes at a provincial or higher level of competition) Full 3M NCCP Level 3 certification University undergraduate degree in Physical Education or the equivalent coaching related training, education and/or experience A letter of endorsement from your National Sport Organization

APPLICATION PROCEDURE
Please provide the following information: A one page letter of intent outlining why you want to attend the NCI including your long term goals A resume of coaching experience and achievements, including the age, level  and events of the athletes you have coached, and their highest competitive
achievements. Indicate any head-coaching experience. A copy of your 3M NCCP passport showing full certification at Level 3. A copy of your academic transcript or describe your equivalent training,  education and/or experience that helped prepare you as an advanced coach.
A letter of endorsement from your NSO indicating their approval of you as a 3M NCCP Level 4 candidate. Two or more letters of reference related to your coaching experience.
