4. Communications
a) Sad News
I am sorry to have to report the death of Andrew Webber's father. Many of those in attendance at nationals this year may have noticed Andrew's absence. His father was diagnosed in June and died last week. On behalf of the FCA membership and the President, I wish to express our condolences to the Webber family in Newfoundland and Nova Scotia.
b) Unofficial new records nouvelles intermediare
Kathy, I believe 3 new Canadian records were shot at our Alberta Outdoor Provincials this weekend. I believe Dawn Groszko and Kevin Brayford both shot records. I shot a Canadian record as follows:
Bob Bennett, Master Men Unlimited, August 14/99, Calgary Archers Range, 30 meters, score 352.
ET,(de Arthur Nault) dans le record tir au Championnat Canadien on devrait ajouté celui de Norbert qui a fait un record canadien a 90 mètre avec un 278 que détenais Alec avec 274.
c) Subject: CBC Radio Interview (Al Jenskey)
Hello there! I just thought that you may want to know that I have been interviewed by CBC radio after winning at Canadians. The local CBC
correspondent saw a newspaper article in the local paper, and called last night to do an interview over the phone. She indicated that she will
submit the story, but the CBC gets the final word on whether it will actually air or not. If it does air, it will be this Friday morning, Aug. 20 on the show "Ontario Morning". The Elgin County segment of the show airs around 8:20 am. I understand that this broadcast will be province wide, so if you are so inclined, tune in the CBC on Friday around 8:15 am. Hopefully it will gain some exposure for our sport!
Thanks, Al Jensky
d) Championships Format Proposal by Bruce Savage
Your feedback is requested for the second draft of this proposal (revised after the Annual General Meeting). Malheureusement il est disponible en anglais seulement. Check out Al's neat title at this link on the web.
