Top archers from British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Ontario, Quebec and the United States participated in the two-day event. To say it was hot, would be an understatement. 7. 2000 3D Championships in Aylmer, PQ
I attended a press conference last Monday across the river from the national office in the beautiful Pontiac region of Quebec. The occasion was the formal announcement of the national championships in Aylmer, unveiling of the official 3D logo and the introduction of the Organizing Committee and sponsors. I represented the FCA's president Al Wills; FTAQ was represented by both President Guy Bigras and Technical Director Gilbert St-Laurent; the City of Aylmer and the Pontiac regional governments were represented by officials; and representatives from the first sponsors Coors Light and Molson Breweries and Best Western Hotels were there. The newspapers and television crews zoomed in to speak with Chairman Jacques Carriere in a totally bilingual environment. I encourage all of our 3D shooters to attend this event. I am sure it will be a great event.

9. Directors-at-large
Have you considered running? The positions of directors-at-large are elected by delegates to the AGM every two years. From this pool of volunteers, the Board votes for FCA officiers who will formulate policy and guide the day-to-day operations of the FCA (with the staff) on behalf of the Board. FCA needs, and deserves, dedicated volunteer leadership. Like to find out more? Contact either Kathy Millar or Al Wills for details.
FCA has received 2 nominations to date. Please send signed, and seconded nominations to the office as soon as possible. You DO have until the AGM, but I am trying to put together small resumes for each position in advance of the voting. Send your nominations directly to the Ottawa Office:

In closing
Nothing ever happens and then three great events in one week: Ontario Spring Classic; Aylmer's 3D press conference, and the President and Mary visit Ottawa. Mary and Al had lunch with 3 "generations" of Executive Directors on Wednesday: Duncan Grant, Brian MacPherson and myself (the second time around). Though it was a bit brisk eating outside (especially after living through the +35 C in Toronto), lunch was great. Of course, it also gave me a rare chance to see Mary and have a short meeting with the Chief Kahoona. Al should have received his medal of merit yesterday along with only 89 others. More later. Have a good weekend. Kathy :)
Enfin
Bon fin semaine! Kathy :)
