The cold, wet weather seems to have followed me back from the target/field championships in Edmonton.  At least the 3D nationals had good weather!

Malheureusement en Ottawa, il pleut et il fait froid comme en Edmonton. Sauf que les championnats 3d, tous les archers ont tire "en hiver"!

Pascal reports that the NAC and his office will be closed as follows:

August 11-14; 16-20 & 23-27 aout

The national office will be closed the week of August 23rd.  Le bureau d'Ottawa sera ferme seulement durant la semaine le 23 aout.

2. Men's team wins silver at Pan Am Games
Against a backdrop of windy afternoons and head-colds, Rob Rusnov, David Dalziel and Shawn Riggs brought back Canada's only archery medal from this year's Pan Am Games in Winnipeg.  Congratulations, guys!  For detailed information, pictures and coach's diary, dial up www.panamgames.org.  It is (was) an incredible web-site--first-rate.  I hear that the Winnipeg archery was first-rate also.  Congratulations go to all the archery volunteers led by Wendy Ross and Ron Missyabit!  Way to go!!!!

2. l'equipe hommes a gagne la medaille d'argent!
Malgre le vent fort et les maladies, notre equipe masculine de Rob, Dave et Shawn a gagne le seule medaille de tir a l'arc pour Canada a Winnipeg.  Felicitations, tout le gang!  Si vous avez besoin d'autre information panamericaine, composez www.panamgames.org.  Si le site functionne encore, voyez les photos, les notes d'entraineur Joan McDonald et les resultats.  Le site etait formidable.  Je connais que le comite organizateur de Winnipeg a ete formidable aussi.  Felicitations a les benevoles de tir a l'arc comme Wendy Ross et Ron Missyabit!!!!!!!!!!!

3. National Championships results
Al Wills, President, technical advisor to Pan Am Games archery, and web-master is busy getting all those results, eliminations and 3D scores on line this week.  It's quite a job, so PLEASE BE PATIENT!!!!!!!! Results can be found at:

As usual, I enjoyed getting out of this tiny cell I work in to meet new volunteers and see old acquaintances again.  It was great.  I would like to thank Pat Morphy, Larry Robins and Phoebe Sigurdson for all their work running the first-ever combined target/field/3D nationals!  I loved it.  Last year I didn't get a chance to meet our 3D members, so this year was a positive experience.  To the hearty little bad of volunteers--thanks a bunch.  And, Pascal, way to go.  Hope you survived Winnipeg!  I only had to survive 6 meetings in 4 days, and that was enough!

Notre president est retourne de Winnipeg apres les jeux panamericaines ET nos championnats nationaux de Edmonton.  Maintain, il essaie de organizer tous les resultats et les publie en site.  Patience, patience, SVP!!!!

Comme habitude, j'adore l'occasion annuel de parler avec nos benevoles et archers de cible fixe, de parcours et de 3D.  Felicitations a Larry, Phoebe et Pat, et le petit groupe des benevoles d'Edmonton.  J'espere que nos membres se sont amuse bien ensemble:  les tireurs de 3D et de cible ordinnaire.  Et, Pascal, merci pour tes efforts en Edmonton ET en Winnipeg.  J'ai eu seulement 6 reunions en 4 jours, mais il etait assez pour moi!

Linda Tripney from Ontario won a famous NFAA silver bowl last week in Watkins Glen New York.  Congrats, congrats.

I have not received any news about Canadians at IBO worlds, but I do know that Larry S. Smith of Chesterville, ON placed 4th in MBR!
