I have just mailed out an ENORMOUS Board mailing. There has been a tremendous amount of activity going on in the FCA. For those of you who wish to read the meeting minutes listed in the Board mailing cover sheet, Al Wills will have them on the Website (man, is that ever well done),  Al was in Halifax this week for business meetings and as usual found time to do a little FCA business in between sessions. 1. First some good news/les nouvelles positives

It is with a great deal of satisfaction that I have the pleasure of introducing Don Lohnes to the position of the ACC 3D and Bowhunting director. Don comes to this position with a great deal of knowledge and has been very active on the ACC 3D committee for the past year. Welcome aboard, Don. All inquiries in regards to 3D shooting in Canada as it pertains to the FCA must be directed to Don. Thank you

2. Now the sad news/maintain les nouvells tristes

The University of Ottawa deeply regrets the passing of Charles Drouin, coordinator of the Centre for Special Services, who died unexpectedly on Wednesday February 3. Mr. Drouin was a valuable and enthusiastic team leader in the University's Student Life Services.

A Montreal native who studied at the Universite du Quebec a Montreal and a fellow of the Institute of Management Specialists, Mr. Drouin joined the University in 1992 as a consultant for awareness activities. In that capacity, he was responsible for the planning, organization, promotion and evaluation of awareness activities and the adapted sports program. Heavily involved for many years in sports for the disabled, both as an executive and coach, he had previously been technical director of the Canadian Wheelchair Sports Association and of the Federation of Canadian Archers Inc.

C'est avec une grande tristesse que le personnel de l'Universite d'Ottawa a appris le deces de Charles Drouin, coordonnateur du Centre des services speciaux de l'Universite. Monsieur Drouin nous a quitte subitement mercredi le 3 fevrier. Il etait un chef d'equipe enthousiaste et apprecie au sein du Service de la vie etudiante.

Ne a Montreal il a etudia a l'UQAM puis il a obtenu son diplome de l'Institut des specialistes de la gestion; il s'est joint a l'Universite d'Ottawa en 1992 en tant que consultant. Charles Drouin devait planifier organiser, evaluer et faire la promotion d'activites de sensibilisation a la cause des personnes handicappees, en particulier dans les sports adaptes. Engage a fond dans le domaine des sports adaptes autant comme entraineur que comme gestionnaire, il a ete directeur technique de l'Association canadienne des sports en fauteuil roulant et de la Federation canadienne des archers inc.

Les funerailles de M. Drouin auront lieu mercredi le 10 fevrier a 14h a l'Eglise Sacre-coeur, situee a l'angle des rues Laurier et Cumberland.

Co-ordinator, Special Services Centre (CSS), Student Life Services, University of Ottawa. Suddenly in Ottawa on Wednesday February 3, 1999, at the age of 38. Son of Dr. Jacques Drouin and Odette Bouille. Dear father of Adam and Samantha. Brother of Marc-Simon and Colette. He is also survived by a friend, Melanie Sexton and by Mary Jane Waugh. Family will receive friends on Wednesday February 10 from 1:00 at the Sacre-Coeur Church until time of service at 2:00. Donations to the Charles Drouin Foundation would be appreciated.

Fils du Dr Jacques Drouin et de Odette Bouille; pere de Adam et Samantha; frere de Marc-Simon et Colette, il laisse aussi dans le deuil une tres chere amie Melanie Sexton ainsi que Mary Jane Waugh. Une messe commemorative sera celebree le mercredi 10 fevrier en l'eglise Sacre-Coeur d'Ottawa a 14h. La famille accueillera parents et amis a compter de 13h. Des dons a la Fondation Charles Drouin seraient apprecies.

5. Indoor award pins/les epinglettes du tournois en salle #199A-24A Don't forget there are FCA arrowhead award pins available for indoor scores. Inner ten applies to appropriate divisions. They cost $4.95 each plus GST and shipping. Order them through the FCA with a copy of the scorecard. Scores must be shot in registered FCA tournaments only. Green/vert (less thanmoins que 200), White/blanc (200-219), Black/noir (220-239), Blue/bleu (240-259), Red/rouge (260-279), and/et Gold/d'or (280+).

Please note that only members of the Board of Directors are allowed to vote on the issue listed. Others on the FCA Board mailing list have been given this information out of courtesy. FCA encourages a lively discussion over this topic within the allotted time.
