Greetings/Bonjour:

1. Smiles/Souries

First in English from Dawn Groszko:

Subject: New Element

MAJOR U.S. RESEARCH UNIVERSITY DISCOVERS NEW ELEMENT!!. The heaviest element known to science was recently discovered by. investigators at a major U.S. research university. The element, tentatively named Administratium, has no protons or electrons and thus has. an atomic number of 0. However, it does have 1 neutron, 125 assistant neutrons, 75 vice neutrons, and 111 assistant vice neutrons. This gives it an atomic mass of 312. These 312 particles are held together by a force that involves the continuous exchange of meson-like particles called morons... Since it has no electrons, Administratium is inert. However, it can be detected chemically as it impedes every reaction it comes in contact with. According to the discoverers, a minute amount of Administratium causes one reaction to take over four days to complete when it would have normally occurred in less than one second. Administratium has a normal half-life of approximately three years, at which time it does not decay, but instead undergoes a reorganization in which assistant neutrons, vice neutrons, and assistant vice neutrons exchange places. Some studies have shown that the atomic mass actually increases after each reorganization.

Research at other laboratories indicates that Administratium occurs naturally in the atmosphere. It tends to concentrate at certain points such as government agencies, large corporations, and universities. It can usually be found in the newest, best appointed, and best maintained buildings.

Scientists point out that Administratium is known to be toxic at any level of concentration and can easily destroy any productive reaction where it is allowed to accumulate. Attempts are being made to determine how Administratium can be controlled to prevent irreversible damage, but results to date are not promising.

Et en suite, de Jeannot: OH, Oh, c'était dans "trash". Jeannot, STP,.renvoyes le à moi!

7. Website News (from Al Wills)

Note that the excellence ranking results for recurve and compound are now on the web site at: http://www.FCA.ca/ranking/rankingpage

Also: We passed a bit of a milestone today, (2 November) the web page received it's.1000th hit, while I wouldn't presume to tell you that this means 1000 people had accessed it, it does mean that our page has been looked at 1000.times, I am sure some have looked at it many times, but you can still see that it is providing a service. It was getting about 25 hits a day, lately about 35, so hopefully the investment is paying off.

8. What's in a name? De quoi c'est un nom?

Well, everyone is stuck with me for at least another 6 months. I have just signed another contract with FCA. Funny, I thought I was just here until last March. Anyway, I have asked for a change in my title to more accurately reflect what I do. So, I have moved (I'm not sure "up" is the appropriate word when you work alone) to General Manager from Programmes Manager. So for all those people who didn't like that I spelled my title.(prograMMes) the Canadian way, you won't have to think about it anymore.

Enfin, qu'est-ce que c'est le nom correct en français. Soyez gentile!!!!

Est-ce que le titre "gerant administraf"? Au Secour!!!!

News concerning the national office: we're moving. The lease is up on November 30. Things are just being finalized today (I hope). Right now it looks as though the mailing address and the phone/fax will be the same. Of course the e-mail will stay the same anyway. So, when everything is settled, I'll be able to tell all the throngs of people who come to visit the office, where they can find me on December 1st.
